We have established the following four principles:
1. We will continue to do our utmost to protect user privacy through the appropriate use of the latest technology.
2. We will respect your email privacy. You will not receive unsolicited mail from us or from third parties. We will, however, mail you occasionally with information about your registration and/or information about the site. We will never ask you for, or confirmation of, your password or pseudonym information.
3. We will not pass on any individual user details (including your email address) unless we have your prior consent. As the site develops and relationships develop between support group members, some people may ask us to share information among other users for some purpose such as local meetings etc.
4. Otherwise, we will only share anonymous aggregate statistics for the purpose of funding or research. This will be information such as numbers of members, countries we have had contact from, the numbers of hits on the various different parts of the site and perhaps generalised information about the main topics being discussed. This information will also be available on the site - i.e. if we write a report to funders all members will be able to read it.
Should we elect to change our privacy policy we will post the changes here. Where the changes are significant, we may also choose to email all our registered users with the new details.
We also offer a 'My Account' page, where you can update your personal information at any time. You can get to this page from any page on the site when you are logged in. Simply click on the 'My Account' link at the top of the left hand side bar when you are signed in.
